About the Planetarium
The Abhinava Planetarium is India’s first digital planetarium equipped with the advanced Digistar 2025 software system. Using a fish eye projector, it projects the night sky onto a dome, creating an immersive experience that feels like observing the sky from a real dark-sky location.
Visitors can explore the current night sky, as well as view how the sky appeared in the past or will appear on specific dates in the future. The planetarium is a powerful tool for understanding key astronomical concepts.
The facility also features dome-based films on astronomy, space technology, and various scientific topics. More than ten films and documentaries are available in English, Marathi, and Hindi.
The planetarium has a seating capacity of 50, is fully air-conditioned, and is equipped with a modern sound system.
About the Show
Total Duration: 50 minutes
Sky Observation (20 minutes)
- Introduction to constellations, zodiac signs, and star patterns visible in the current night sky
- Guidance on how to identify planets with the naked eye
- Information on notable astronomical events visible during the month
Film (25 minutes + 5-minute Q&A)
- A 25-minute immersive 360-degree dome film on astronomy and space science
- Followed by a 5-minute session to address audience questions

Fees
- General entry: ₹150 per person (Minimum age: 8 years)
- Full-show booking: ₹5,000 (Maximum 50 participants per show)
Important Notes
- Parking is not available within the school premises
- Group bookings must be made at least one week in advance
- Entry fees for public shows are accepted in cash only
- Food, bags, and footwear are not allowed inside the dome
- Entry is open only for individuals with age 8 years and above
